New Delhi, Mar. 1 (ANI): Stars of '2 States' Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, along with producers Sajid Nadiadwala and Karan Johar, director Abhishek Varman and author Chetan Bhagat, recently launched the trailer of their upcoming flick in Mumbai.

The film is based on Bhagat's novel of the same name that revolves around two IIM graduates who fall for each other.

Whilst addressing the media, Kapoor said that doing the film was a dream come true for him.

"When I read the script, I impulsively knew that as an actor I will get to do something which nobody else saw in me and I am glad that Chetan wrote this and Sajid Bhai and came together and thought of taking me in this film because I was looking for something like this and to play a character like this is great and it looks really nice I am seeing it for the first time genuinely on the big screen. I have had a blast working on this film," Kapoor said.

Meanwhile, Bhagat seemed ecstatic with the way the film has turned up.

"It's very serial for me to see this book, not only this is the adaptation of my book but you all know my personal connection to this story. This time I really gave up my baby for adoption and it grew up to this beautiful girl that I see today," he said.

Bhagat thanked Johar and Nadiadwala for believing in the film and coming together to make it happen.

"Thanks to Abhishek who is a new director but is a really fine director and off course the cast and Arjun and Alia who created a buzz online, people were waiting for this so I am absolutely delighted," he added.

'2 States' is scheduled for an April 18th release. (ANI)
