Kolkata, Feb 20 (IANS) Admitting her love for black and white hues, fashion designer Masaba Gupta Thursday said she would love to dress her father, former West Indies cricketer Vivian Richards, in a bandhgala crafted by her.
"I would love to put him in a bandhgala, that I have made from one of my prints, not a regular one. I think he will look cool because he has maintained himself pretty well," Masaba told the media here at the opening of the first 'Masaba' store in eastern India.
On her illustrious father who loves the city, Masaba said he "doesn't understand fashion".
"He always tells me how well the women in Kolkata dress. He says the women here are very fierce and they dress very well," she said.
On the other hand, she said her actress-mother Neena Gupta has influenced her design sensibility and aesthetics.
"Growing up, I always saw her dress like this... in Ikkat, Kanjeevarams, handloom stuff. She always had this eclectic style and she used to pick up sarees and cut it up and do things herself.
"So she was a designer on her own and seeing her like that... my sensibility and design aesthetics have become like that," she said.
Masaba said she would love to see Neena in a combination of red, white and gold.
