London, Feb 20 (ANI): The testing troubles of Formula One champions Red Bull have reportedly continued on the first day of the second pre-season test in Bahrain after they completed just 14 laps with star driver Sebastian Vettel at the wheel.
The world champions, whose first test at Jerez, Spain was disastrous, were delayed by five hours because of problems building the car and when they did start running, it broke down with over one hour remaining.
According to the BBC, although it is yet unclear what caused the Red Bull car to stop on track but there was a burning smell coming from the car when it was returned to the pits on the back of a lorry.
The report mentioned that Red Bull has brought two different bodywork packages to Bahrain in an attempt to find a solution to the chronic overheating that, along with severe problems with the Renault power-unit, caused their troubles at the first test.
Stating that they are not happy with their current position, Vettel said that he still has not tested the car much and needs more to judge the car, adding that it is not easy for them to find a solution.
Other Renault teams continue to struggle with power unit-related problems and although Renault initially admitted it had not completely solved the problems that had made the first test a waste of time for all their teams, it however, believes they could run the power-unit as they wanted and implied that Red Bull's problems were car-related.
Meanwhile, Force India's Nico Hulkenberg was fastest from Ferrari's Fernando Alonso and Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton, while McLaren's Kevin Magnussen was fourth quickest from Vettel, who was 3.344secs off the pace, the report added. (ANI)
