Aam Aadmi Party, Yogendra Yadav, Bangles, Anti-women

New Delhi, Fri, 14 Feb 2014 ANI

New Delhi, Feb.14 (ANI): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday sought an apology from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for presenting bangles to its ministers in Delhi Assembly on Thursday.

"We demand an apology from the Bharatiya Janata Party for the incident in the assembly yesterday. This kind of behavior is not just indecent behavior in an assembly; it is fundamentally anti-women. This is an insult to women in this country. The old male chauvinist language, which treats women as victims who are incapable of defending themselves, must go. Women stand for hard work and courage today. The leader of the opposition, Mr. Harshwardhan, must tender an apology for defending this indefensible act," AAP leader Yogendra Yadav said.

On Thursday, BJP legislator R.P. Singh placed bangles and lipstick on Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti's table, as he was going to table the Jan Lokpal Bill.

Meanwhile, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung's letter to M.S. Dhir Speaker has made it clear that if the government tables the Jan Lokpal Bill, it would be unconstitutional. The AAP Government has decided to go ahead despite his warning(ANI)
