Washington, January 13 (ANI): Researchers have found that coffee can be used as a memory enhancer.
Scientists from the Johns Hopkins University have found that caffeine has a positive effect on long-term memory in humans, and it can reduce forgetting things over 24 hours.
The study conducted by Michael Yassa, assistant professor of psychological and brain sciences in the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences, and his team has shown that the brain's ability to recognize the difference between two similar but not identical items, called pattern separation, reflects a deeper level of memory retention, which gets enhanced by coffee.
The study was published by the journal Nature Neuroscience. (ANI)
