Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on the occasion of 67th Independence Day of India Thrusday appealed Delhi public to conserve water saying water is a limited natural resource.
"I appeal to the people not to waste water. There are constraints to the quantity of water we get from the Himalayas and Uttarakhand," Dikshit said in her address on Independence Day.
She also said her government would be the first initiate the implementation of food security scheme, under which 73 lakh people would be benefited. It would be implemented in Delhi from Aug 20, she said.
"Food will be easily available to the people belonging to the below poverty line category," she added.
