Rajesh Khanna's estranged wife Dimple Kapadia, daughter Twinkle Khanna and son-in-law Akshay Kumar unveiled his statue at Walk of The Stars in Bandra Bandstand Promenade, Mumbai.
The pose of the statue has been taken from Rajesh Khanna's film Anand with balloons in hand.

Whole of Bollywood gathered during the unveiling and the list of celebrities included Asha Parekh, Hema Malini, Jeetendra, Rishi Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty, Zeenat Aman, Rakesh Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Rajeev Shukla, Amar Singh and Anju Mahendru.
During the unveiling Dimple Kapadia said, "Kakaji was an enigma, a superstar who lived and died on his own terms. He was Anand and he lived like Anand."
Akshay Kumar read a note written by Aarav during the event.
A short film related to the life of late Rajesh Khanna was also shown during the event.
69-year-old Rajesh Khanna died on July 18, 2012 following prolonged illness.
