St. Xavier's College Mumbai begins 'Malhar 2013'

Like every year, this year also St. Xavier's College Mumbai has organized its annual event 'Malhar 2013' with added colours of more events and entertainment.

This year, the theme for Malhar 2013 has been decided as "To put to rout all that was not life; and not when I had come to die, discover that I had not lived."

"This year we introduce not only new events but we are tweaking old events and bringing out something new. However, keeping in mind every person to encompass every spirit of participation, refreshing new events, an engrossing line up of speakers, overwhelming performances and inspiring exhibitions will be this years major attraction", said Pooja Dewoolkar, Chairperson Malhar 2013.

Conclave, balances out Malhar to create a platform for the young enthusiasts to debate upon relevant issues. "We explore every facet, social causes which make Malhar a multi-dimensional fest. This year Conclave aims to go a step ahead. With few structural changes, we aim to connect with a wider audience and discuss everyday issues", said Vice-Chairperson (Conclave), Chirag Goel.

Malhar is organized by the students of St.Xavier's College. The workforce comprises of 5 tiers. The Quartet, the first tier, consists of the Chairperson and three Vice-Chairpersons, one for the Management Departments, the other for the Events Departments and the third for Conclave. The next tier comprises the Organising Committee (OC). Each OC member heads one of the 20 departments of Malhar. The OC of a department has a certain number of Organisers (OGs) under him or her. These OGs link the OCs to the final tier of co- coordinators and volunteers which brings the total workforce strength to about 1200. The Staff Committee works in tandem with the workforce on a variety of issues.
