London, June 19 (ANI): China's telecom giant Huawei has introduced the world's slimmest android-based smartphone named "Ascend P6".
Ascend P6 is 6.18mm thick and features a 5 megapixel front camera enabling high quality self portraits.
Huawei stated that the smartphone has 4.7in screen and is more than 3mm thin.
In comparison to the iphone 5 and the Alcatel One Idol Ultra which made their stand of slimmest phones yet, Ascend P6 is slimmer but weighs a bit more.
The phone has an internal storage capacity of 8 gigabytes, sports 1.5GHz quad-core processor and Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 operating system. The smartphone features Huawei's own user interface and even includes an "auto facial enhancement" tool to create better self portraits, the BBC reports.
Huawei said the phone features various power saving technologies that enables device's battery lasts upto 30 percent longer as it would last normally.
Shao Yang, chief marketing officer for Huawei Device, is expecting this phone to do astonishing growth for the brand.
Ben Wood director of research at consultancy CCS Insight said that Ascend P6 is the best phone launched by Huawei yet as far as design and quality is concerned.
An analyst praised it for the design but said that its inability to support for 4G network will make its limit its sale.
Though, Samsung and Apple have captured most of the android phones market, Huawei is still expecting to increase its sell to double in comparison to last year.
