Valedictory Function of Women Security and Empowerment Programme today organized a Valedictory Function of its Women Security and Empowerment programme with the association of Delhi Police. It was held today evening, the 17Center, Amarjyoti Colony.
The Chief Guest was Dr.Shobha Vijender, the founder President of mpurna and MCD Counsillor. She appreciated the efforts of Sampurna by providing a platform for women and children belonging to mixed background to work and learn together.It is to be noticed that Sampurna organized 15 days “Women Security and Empowerment Programme”.
The first part of the programme was the Capacity Building workshop that was imparted by the various psychologists associated with SAMPURNA to motivate and enhance the skills of the participants to fight against the increasing crimes. The other part of the program consists of self defense training to the adolescent girls and women.
More than 100girls and women of different age groups took part in the Self Defense Training .The response was very encouraging as the need for Self –Defense and developing qualities for courage and self-confidence among women was growing appreciably to thwart and effectively prevent the increasing cases of molestations, chain snatching and even rape cases.
The program was organized with the help of Delhi Police. The demonstration of Self Defense in the supervision of women head constables was really remarkable. The certificates of completion of training were handed over to the participants by Dr.Shobha Vijender.A vote of thanks was given by Dr. Shobha Vijender, the founder President of Sampurna.th of June at Sampurna.
