In another technological advancement, China on Monday announced to have built the fastest supercomputer of World with a capacity of performing 33.86 quadrillion operations per second. Prior to this, the fastest supercomputer in World was the US Titan supercomputer.
Named as Tianhe-2, the supercomputer has a highest performance speed of 54.9 quadrillion operations per second, according to the National University of Defence Technology, which built the computer, reported Xinhua.
Earlier computer's predecessor in the series, the Tianhe-1A remained the world's fastest supercomputer from November 2010 to June 2011 which was then surpassed by Japan's K computer.
