A five-member delegation led by Mr. S.E. Cheremin, Minister, Government of Moscow today called on Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in her office at Delhi Secretariat. The visiting Minister and Dikshit interacted on number of civic amenities available in both the cities.
Dikshit told Mr. Cheremin that Delhi is a city state and it has a unique administrative set up. The visiting leader expressed his wiliness to offer expertise in the field of water treatment and water distribution. He also apprised Dikshit about the transport infrastructure available in the city of Moscow. He further appreciated the vast greenery and Delhi Metro services. Dikshit also stated that her government is in process of commissioning the fast-ever Monorail Project in the North India.
Both the leaders expressed their keenness to cooperate in various sectors including waste management, health, transport and water distribution. They expressed confidence that the cooperation between the two cities would ultimately benefit the citizens. They also agreed to take an appropriate action at the earliest in order to turn agreed cooperation n into reality.
