South Delhi Municipal Corporation organised 10 days cultural seminar based on Art and Music for Nursery and Primary teachers at SDMC Primary School Sector-6 R.K.Puram. On this occasion Chairman and Deputy Chairman of Education Committee. Satish Udpadhya and . Kusam Khatri and other high officials of Education Department were present.
Chairman of Education Committee.Satish Udpadhya said that the objective of this seminar is to create interest for arts and music in teachers A total of 87 teachers (43 Nursery and 44 Primary teachers) from South, Central, West and Najafgarh zone participated in the seminar.
The teachers learnt various prayers, community songs, folk songs, folk dance from music maestros. Dr. Gowswami, Senior lecturer from DIET Moti Bagh taught the teachers the art of making various TLM from waste materials such pen holders, flowers from tissue papers, photo frames, stick puppets, mats from used newspapers, masks & mobile teaching aids.
Several experts from NCERT & SCERT were also invited for lectures on relevant educational issues such as right to education act, gender sensitization, developmental skills (language, motor, cognitive and other) of students.
