East Delhi Municipal Corporation today started a special drive for registration of cycle rickshaws and rickshaw pullers/pliers through their Citizen Service Bureaus whereas North Delhi Municipal Corporation had initiated the drive on 25th March 2013.The application form for registration of cycle rickshaws and rickshaw puller/pliers are available at the CSB counters free of cost. The application form can also be downloaded from the website of the corporations www.mcdonline.gov.in.
It is clarified that the Identity or Residents proof for registration or any proof of purchase of cycle rickshaw would not be demanded at the time of registration .The fee charged for registration of cycle rickshaws at the time of registration is Rs. 400/- for 5 years and licence fees for rickshaw puller/plier is Rs.150/- for 3 years.
The applicant would have also to pay one time parking fee of Rs. 300/- at the time of registration. The complete application would be disposed in two days by providing the registration certificate. There is no limit for the number of registration of rickshaws, all the applications complete in all respect would be given registration. For the registration, the CSBs have been equipped with biometric machine to take index finger impression and cameras to register the photograph.
The process of impounding/seizing and destroying and scraping of cycle rickshaw is totally discontinued.
