Punjab Police recovered heroin worth Rs 130 crore from a flat in Zirakpur, Mohali early morning on Friday.
The police alleged that Boxer Vijender Singh's wife's car was found outside the Zirakpur flat and 10 kilograms of heroin was also recovered from another car. But it has not been confirmed if it was from the boxer's wife's car.
H.S. Mann, SSP Fatehgarh said, "10Kg heroin was found from a car, 16Kg from a flat in Zirakpur. An international drug smuggling racket has been found".
"Four days ago, an NRI was arrested, on interrogation we found that two smugglers had 26 kilograms of heroin worth Rs130 crore on them," he added.
"It is an international scam. Many countries are involved in this. Investigations are going on," he said.
However, Vijender denied any connection with a man who was arrested in Rs 130-crore drug haul in Punjab on Friday.
Vijender said, "I have nothing to do with these people. I do not know how my name has come up in this matter. I was in Mumbai for some work and had left my car at NIS Patiala. Nothing was found in my car".
