In a bid to outlining its ambition for providing high quality healthcare services, Max Healthcare today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HealthPoint Services India Pvt. Ltd in the field of medical and healthcare services.
According to Max Healthcare sources, the MoU will combine their efforts in the field of medical and healthcare services. eHealthPoint has set up a very strong network of safe drinking water delivery points in Tier 4 towns and several villages in South Punjab.
Commenting on the MoU, Max Healthcare's CEO, Dr Ajay Bakshi said that primary Healthcare is the first level of contact of individuals with the national health system and addresses the primary health problems in the community. India currently struggles with primary healthcare due to a shortage of doctors and other trained staff.
He further added that while the government is making continuous efforts to improve the healthcare situation through schemes like National Rural Health Mission, Rashtriya Swastha Bima Yojana, Mukhya Mantri Punjab Cancer Raahat scheme etc, the private players would also need to step up and contribute in meeting the current challenges of healthcare delivery.
Amit Jain, CEO of HealthPoint Services India Pvt. Ltd. Said, "We are very excited and gratified to get into an MOU with Max Healthcare and very much appreciate the efforts of Max Group to expand their high quality healthcare expertise to low-income and underserved rural communities, especially mother and children and older people. This collaboration is expected to inspire and motivate several other such initiatives across India, thereby closing the gap in achieving the Public health goal."
