Sachin Tendulkar has equaled an age-old record of Sunil Gavaskar in first-class cricket by scoring his 81st century in the ongoing Irani Cup match between Mumbai and Rest of India at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Sachin scored his 81st century on Day 3 of the Irani Cup and also surpassed 25,000 runs. This is Sachin's second century in Irani Cup, first came in 1989 when he was 16-years old, against Delhi in Mumbai.
Rest of India post a massive 526 runs score in the first inning of the match thanks to Raina (134), Vijay (116), Rayudu (51) and Mithun (51). Mumbai team scored 155 on the loss of 2 wickets on Day 2. Wasim Jaffer scored 80 runs and Rahane was not out at 55. On Day 3, Rahane got out at 83 while other batsmen too struggled to make runs.
Sachin on the other hand played a not out innings of 140. Mumbai team was all-out for 409 on Day 3. Harbhajan took 3 wickets while Pandey, Mithun and Ojha took 2 wickets each.
