The Winter Session of Parliament will commence from December 5 and last till December 20. An all-party meeting was called on Tuesday by Meira Kumar to talk with all ministers so that Winter Session can work out smoothly.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has also appealed to all the political parties to allow parliament to run smoothly.
"As it is a short session of parliament, it should be everybody's effort to make best and optimal use of the time available to the two houses," Manmohan Singh said.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath, Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, Finance Minister P. Chidambaram, BJP leaders L.K. Advani, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley and Ravi Shankar Prasad attended the all-party meeting.
In the meeting, BJP said that they want Telangana bill to be passed in winter session. The party also wants passage of Lokpal bill.
"We demanded that Telangana and Lokpal Bill should be brought by the Government and passed in this session," Sushma Swaraj, the leader of opposition in Lok Sabha, said in a tweet.
"We also asked for debate on atrocities against women and functioning of JPC on 2G spectrum," she said.
She said the party asked for discussion on internal security with special reference to bomb blasts in Patna in October. The blasts occurred ahead of BJP rally addressed by its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
Sushma Swaraj said the party also wants discussion on price rise and slowdown of economy.
On the other hand UPA government is planning to bring a bill for bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and creation of separate state of Telangana.
Congress is determined to push through the Lokpal Bill and the Women's Reservation Bill during the session.
After the all-party meeting Kamal Nath said, "All political parties had agreed upon bringing the Telangana bill in the winter session".
"It will be the government's endeavour to bring the bill as soon as possible," he added.
Because of the pending work, parliament's winter session will continue for extended hours.
