New Delhi, Dec 16 (ANI): Delhi witnessed the first fog of the winter season on Monday which delayed the schedule of over 25 domestic and international flights at the IGI airport here.
Passengers flying to their destinations from Delhi airport were left waiting and flights scheduled to land at the airport were also delayed as they were asked to hover after the runway visibility dropped to less than 50 metres.
An irate passenger, who came from Punjab to board a flight from Delhi airport, expressed distress due to the delay.
"We have come from Amritsar and we are going to Goa. Due to the fog our flight is one hour delayed. We are facing too much problems as we are standing outside," said Navjot Singh, a passenger.
Another passenger who was at the Delhi airport to board a flight to Mumbai complained of little information being provided about delay in flight operations.
"We have heard that flights are delayed for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Our departure was scheduled at 11:30 a.m. and now it will come around 12:30 p.m. They have informed us that this is due to the fog and therefore, we are facing difficulties," said Sandeep Kumar, another passenger.
Reportedly, around 10 planes coming to Delhi were asked to hover, while international flights were also diverted. (ANI)
