Congress leaders say, "We are fully committed passing the Lokpal Bill"

New Delhi, Dec. 14 (ANI): Congress Party leaders Rahul Gandhi, P. Chidambaram and Kapil Sibal said on Saturday they were fully committed to passing the Lokpal Bill.

Addressing the media, Union Finance Minister P.Chidambram said the Bill would help to maintain transparency in all the departments and areas.

"Our version of Lokpal gives the power to investigate and prosecute. It reflects all that is expected from this bill, said Chidambaram.

Adding to that Information and Technology minister Kapil Sibal said the Lokpal will be broad based and inclusive.

"There will be transparency and a corruption free government which is the dream of the people," he added

Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi said that the Congress Party fully supported the Lokpal bill and was fully committed to the idea of passing it.

"The Lokpal bill will completely transform the issue of corruption. What we have now is a strong bill to reform corruption, we would like all the other parties to work with us and pass this bill," said Rahul Gandhi.

"This is a matter of national importance and all parties, including the BJP should work together for the national interest," he said.

'This bill is needed. The idea is not about someone's victory, but this bill will help India a lot," Rahul Gandhi added. (ANI)
