Parliament adjourned over Telangana, 2G. Muzaffarnagar violence

New Delhi, Dec. 9 (ANI): Both Houses of Parliament adjourned for the day on Monday afternoon tii Tuesday, as the opposition repeatedly asked the government to provide answers to them on key issues such as the creation of a separate state of Telangana, the recent communal violence in Muzaffarnagar and the 2G spectrum scam.

In the Lok Sabha, Bahujan Samaj Party members trooped into the well of the House after it re-assembled at noon to protest against the Muzaffarnagar violence.

Members from Andhra Pradesh continued with their protest over the proposed bifurcation of the state.

Protests were also aired when P.C.Chacko, the chairman of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on 2G spectrum allocation, tabled his report.

The DMK and the BJP were vociferous in airing their protests. Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar ruled that there will be no discussion on the report in the House.

In the Rajya Sabha, BSP members protested against the violence in Muzaffarnagar and demanded the dismissal of the Akhilesh Yadav-led Government in Uttar Pradesh.

Two Telugu Desam members from Andhra Pradesh rushed to the well, raising slogans against the creation of Telangana state.

Deputy Chairman P J Kurien, allowed the tabling of papers before adjourning proceedings in the Upper House. (ANI)
