Kolkata, Nov 30 (IANS) Describing the Congress-led UPA as the "most corrupt" government, the BJP Saturday attacked the Left Front as well as the Trinamool Congress for supporting it, describing them as "Congress' agents".
Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary, Amit Shah speaking at a public rally here accused the Left Front and Trinamool of double standards.
"The hall mark of UPA's regime so far has been rampant corruption and price rise, but this has been possible unfortunately because of parties from West Bengal - the Left Front and the Trinamool which supported the successive UPA governments," he said.
Shah, said to be the right-hand man of BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, also took jibe at the Congress over its leadership issue.
"They say the fight is between Congress and the BJP but where is their leader? Who will lead them (party vice president) Rahul Baba (Gandhi) or Mouni Baba (silent spectator - used by the BJP to refer to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh)?" he asked.
Accusing the Congress of playing only the politics of minority appeasement, Shah said the agenda of the next general polls will be development and showing the path in this regard is Modi, also the Gujarat chief minister.
The BJP leader also warned voters of the state against falling trap to the "agendaless" politics of the Left and the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool.
"They don't have any agenda, nor do they have any policies. They are only concerned with exploring ways to provide support to the Congress and minority appeasement. Do not give them the opportunity to plunder the country," said Shah.
"When Mamataji came to power, people had so many hopes, but all that have been dashed now. Much like an abiding pupil, she has been diligently pursuing the policies of the Left which has ruined the state," he alleged.
