Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan scored a splendid 119 runs in the last match of three-match ODI series against West Indies and helped his team win the match by 5 wickets.
With this win India also won the series by 2-1.
Besides Dhawan, it was Yuvraj who was back in form and scored 53rd half century of his career. Yuvi (55 runs) along with DHawn put up a strong partnership that helped India chase the score of 263 runs.
India won the toss and elected to field first but Indian bowlers were unable to stop West Indian batsmen from scoring runs. WI's middle order Keran Powell (70) Marlon Samuels (71) and Darren Bravo (51) took their team's score to 263 at 50 overs.
India while chasing didn't had a good start with Rohit Sharma departing at 4 and Kohli at 19 but then Dhawan and Yuvraj steadied the innings.
After Dhawan's and Yuvraj's departure, Suresh Raina came to bat and scored 34 runs while Dhoni (23 runs) hit the winning runs.
Shikhar Dhawan was awarded Man of the Match while Virat Kohli was awarded Man of the Series.
In a post-match ceremony Yuvraj said, "I've been batting well but not getting enough runs. Shikhar was batting well so I thought I would spend some time in the middle. Wicket was a bit two paced at the start but it got easier as the game progressed".
Dhawan said, "It has been a great year for me. We usually play on these kind of tracks in Delhi and I am used to playing on them. I knew there would not be much bounce and the drives were on. Happy with my form, the team is doing great."
