London, Nov 22 (ANI): Former Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann has said that new player Mesut Ozil can lead the club to both Premier League and Champions League success this season.
According to the Daily Star, Lehmann, who was also in the 2005 FA Cup winning team, is backing Arsenal to end what will be their nine year wait for silverware in May.
Ozil's superb form has inspired Arsenal to the Premier League summit, the report said.
Lehmann said that he hopes Ozil would add something to the squad in big games and they can go all the way to the Champions League final in Lisbon and win the Premier League title.
He added that it is always good to lead the league and with Ozil, Arsenal has a very technically gifted player.
Arsene Wenger's side currently tops the Premier League table and could extend their lead with victory over third place Southampton at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, the report added.
Arsenal also lead Group F and could qualify for the knockout stage of the Champions League if they are victorious over Marseille and Borussia Dortmund fail to beat Napoli, according to the report. (ANI)
