Windows Phone received few updates recently with Instagram, Vine and Waze apps making debut on the operating system. Users were waiting for these apps top come on Windows phone and now that they are here, the sale of Windows phone are likely to increase.
Till now users were using the unofficial apps that worked similar to Instagram and Vine but now they can download it from windows app store.
Instagram's Windows Phone app is a beta version. Company says that full version will be released soon It will use photo filters and users can use the app to upload photos. Unlike iOS and Android versions, here users will need to shoot photos separately using the camera as there is no direct in-app camera support.
Users will find a button within the app that links to the front and back camera of the phone, and returns the photo after it's taken to apply a filter and upload it.
Since it is a Beta version, there are many features missing, most importantly video uploading. Users won’t be able to upload videos for now. The other missing features include the inability to tag people in photos.
Instagram's interface has quick tabs to access Explore, News, Feeds, and Profiles.
Instagram at present has 150 million active users.
Twitter-owned Vine, a famous social-video sharing app was also unveiled for Windows phone. Users can to share their GIF- like six-second videos with it.
Vine app uses phone's lenses and uses the platform's live tiles, providing users with new notifications right on the home screen.
Google-owned Waze, allows Windows Phone users to get traffic information from others on the road and drivers can also report traffic jams and accidents.
