New Delhi, Nov.10 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's Foreign Affairs Adviser Sartaj Aziz arrived in the national capital on Sunday to participate in the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Foreign Ministers meeting to be held here on November 11 and November 12.
Aziz would also meet External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid on the sidelines of the ASEM Foreign Ministers meeting, to discuss the issue of frequent ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC).
The Foreign Advisor said that he hoped for peace along LoC in Jammu and Kashmir.
"We are also trying to maintain peace between the two countries," Aziz said.
Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin on Saturday said that for India and Pakistan to engage in talks, there should be peace and tranquility on the LoC.
In the September 29 talks between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif, both sides had agreed that improving the situation on the LoC is the 'precondition' to 'forward movement' in the India-Pakistan relationship. (ANI)
