'Bold' Brazilian club adds Che Guevara photo on shirts to boost kit sales

London, Fri, 08 Nov 2013 ANI

London, Nov 8 (ANI): A Rio de Janeiro-based football club has made the brave move to include the revolutionary Che Guevara to its shirts, as they look to boost their kit sales.

According to Metro.co.uk, Guevara's bearded face was the man chosen, with his image going on their new stripy home kit and maroon away kit, while their goalkeeper shirt is designed exactly like the Cuban flag.

But that's not the case for, who have slapped a photo of Che Guevara on their new strips.

It appears that being a little different is working for Brazilian minnows Madureira, with over 3000 sales confirmed in the last few days since its launch, the report said.

Madureira are now hoping to tour Cuba ahead of the kick-off of the Brazilian season in early 2014, the report added. (ANI)
