Johannesburg, Nov. 08 (ANI): A recent study has revealed that a growing number of American teenagers are worried about their online privacy and the possibility of identity theft.
The report by the Family Online Safety Institute found that 76 percent of teens are concerned about online privacy, with 43 percent being "very concerned," News24 reports.
According to the report, 51 percent of teens of those "very concerned" were worried about someone stealing their identity and using information that they posted online.
The survey found girls were more worried about identity theft than boys, the report added.
Officials said that the new report revealed teens' concerns about identity theft, as well as the steps they are taking to protect their personal information online, which will help them to increase awareness and educate both teens and parents.
The report also claimed that teens are particularly vulnerable to identity theft because their credit histories go unmonitored for long periods of time. (ANI)
