Mumbai, Nov.3 (ANI): Bollywood actor Raza Murad on Sunday condoled the death of renowned Pakistani folk singer Reshma, and said that her songs will be cherished forever.
"She had gone through a lot in her life. All her pain was reflected in her voice.
Her voice touched the souls and hearts of people. When her voice was recorded for the first time, she came to know what a microphone was," he said.
'She made a very special place in the hearts of people. The best part was that she did not have any training. Some of her evergreen songs will be cherished forever. Her songs will live forever. She will live forever in our hearts," he added.
Reshma, who was fighting a long battle with throat cancer, passed away today morning in Lahore.
She was born in Bikaner in Rajasthan to a Banjara family, but migrated to Pakistan shortly after partition. She has sung for both Pakistan and Indian film industry.
She was one of the most popular folk singers of Pakistan, and her greatest hits include: 'Dama Dam Mast Kalandar', 'Lambi Judai', 'Wey mein chori chori', 'Ankhiyan nu rehan de' among others. (ANI)
