Modi to visit Bihar blast victims' families

Delhi,Politics, Fri, 01 Nov 2013 IANS

New Delhi, Nov 1 (IANS) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will Saturday visit the homes of the six people who died in the serial blasts in Patna, ahead of a rally that he addressed at Patna's Gandhi Maidan last Sunday, the BJP said here Friday.

Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said that Modi, the prime ministerial candidate of the BJP, will visit the houses of the six victims in different parts of Bihar.

Hussain attacked Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over the blasts, saying he did not have time to visit the families of the victims.

"The people of Bihar are crying in pain. He (Nitish Kumar) does not have time to visit their houses and had embarked on political tourism. He has no words to condemn IM (Indian Mujahideen). He can see sweat on the forehead of Narendra Modi but does not see the blood of the people of Bihar," Hussain said.

He termed the six people who were killed in the blasts "martyrs".

Investigators are probing whether the Indian Mujahideen had a role in the attack.

Hussain also slammed the Bihar government for not taking the suspect in the serial blasts to Delhi for treatment, saying that Ainul alias Tarique, who died in a Patna hospital of wounds sustained while fitting a timer to a bomb, could have revealed much about the plot.

Hussain said the suspect was probably "a human bomb".

"The government approached the whole issue casually," he said.

Six people were killed and 83 injured in seven bomb blasts in Patna. Six of the seven blasts took place Sunday at Patna's Gandhi Maidan where Modi was to address a rally. One explosion was at the railway station.
