Washington, Nov. 1 (ANI): US entrepreneur Elon Musk's idea of 'space travel on Earth' with the 'Hyperloop' transport system taking passengers across California, faster than bullet trains and at a relatively lower cost, has been reportedly put into a realistic gear with the formation of a company dedicated to the project.
Musk's idea has been taken by JumpStartFund, a crowdsourcing and crowdfunding website, which helped form the Hyperloop Transportation Technologies Inc.
The website's CEO, Dirk Ahlborn said that his company reached out to Musk shortly after he announced his plans for Hyperloop and they were happy to put his project on their website, ABC News reports.
JumpStartFund has hired two top engineers for the Hyperloop project, as the project's official leaders, namely Marco Villa, former director of mission operations for SpaceX, and Patricia Galloway, former president of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Ansys, an engineering simulation software developer, GloCal, a company that specializes in advanced materials, and Suprastudio, an architecture program affiliated with UCLA, have come together to share their knowledge and resources for the Hyperloop project.
According to the report, the Hyperloop Transportation Technologies Inc. is expected to have a completed white paper by the end of March 2014, and a prototype design in June, with the first demo slated for early 2015. (ANI)
