Sibal pulls up Modi, says 'one can't run a country on lies'

New Delhi , Fri, 01 Nov 2013 ANI

New Delhi, Nov. 1 (ANI): Asserting that the Congress-led UPA Government speaks on the basis of facts and data, Communications and Information Technology (IT) Minister Kapil Sibal on Friday accused Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate of repeatedly telling lies.

"We are not used to telling lies before the public; we speak on the basis of facts and data," Sibal told media here.

"Modi lied that China spends 20 percent on education, but it actually spent 4 percent, Modi never apologized for the lie," he added.

Sibal, who read out the exact figures to justify is statement, said the UPA Government has done phenomenally well and according to 'Nirantar Virodhi' we have destroyed the future of India.

"If this is the meaning of destruction they must always be in the opposition because we can actually take the nation forward," he added.

Sibal said the only thing being propagated is that the Congress Party has destroyed India and has done nothing for India.

Sibal also took on the BJP prime ministerial candidate Modi over his knowledge of history.

"He doesn't even know Chandragupta Maurya was from Gupta dynasty and that Takshila is in Pakistan," said Sibal.

"A man who doesn't even know his country's history, how can he run the nation?" he asked. (ANI)
