Edinburgh, Oct 27 (ANI): Well-heeled golf fans will reportedly have to shell out 28,000 pounds a week to rent 'holiday homes' near the PGA centenary course where the 2014 Ryder Cup tournament will be held.
With the Gleneagles five-star resort's hotel being fully booked for players and officials for the European and American teams, golf fans can stay in the nearby Glenmor Village, a development of 52 lodges and apartments, in a number of holiday homes, which have been put up for rent.
According to The Scotsman, it is the first time that event, which will see world's top golfers battle for the US and European teams, would be staged in Scotland since 1973.
The report mentioned that a four-bedroom home for a week will cost 28,000 pounds, while a three-bedroom property will set a fan back 21,000 pounds, with two-bedroom homes also available for the whole week of the tournament at 21,800 pounds, adding that people renting the properties will be offered tournament tickets at 400 pounds-per person.
The homes feature 'ultra-modern' fitted kitchens, spa-style bathing rooms and open patio terraces and are also kitted out with a hi-tech, built-in sound system, under-floor heating and a log-effect gas fire.
It is estimated that the tournament - back in Scotland for the first time in 41 years - will bring a 100 million-pound boost to the Scottish economy, the report added. (ANI)
