London, Oct 23 (ANI): Former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed in his autobiography that United was beaten by Barcelona in the Champions League in 2009 because their hotel in Rome was 'in shambles'.
United's hopes of landing the Champions League for the fourth time were stymied by the Spanish giants both in 2009 and 2011.
According to the Mirror, Ferguson revealed in his book that the reason behind the 2009 Rome defeat by Barcelona was because of their hotel in the Eternal City.
The Scot said that the hotel was in shambles, adding that they were in a room with no light, the food was late and cold. (ANI)
