India, Hungary sign six documents to strengthen relationship

New Delhi, Oct. 17 (ANI): After bi-lateral talks at the Prime Ministerial level between India and Hungary, the two countries have signed six documents, including four Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs).

During the course of Hungarian Prime Minister Dr. Viktor Orban's four-day state visit to India, the MoU between the Ministry of Defence of the Government of the Republic of India and The Ministry of Defence of Hungary concerning Cooperation in the Areas of Defensive Aspects of Microbiological and Radiological Detection And Protection was signed.

An MoU between The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Republic of India and the Ministry of Human Resources of Hungary on Cooperation in the Field of Traditional Systems of Medicine was also signed.

An MoU on Air Services between Government of India and Government of Hungary was also signed.

MoU on Cooperation in the field of Sports between The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of India and The Ministry of Human Resources of Hungary was also signed.

Additionally, a Letter of Intent on Indo-Hungarian Strategic Research Fund between Department of Science and Technology of the Republic of India and National Innovation Office of Hungary.

A cultural program between the two countries was also agreed upon, as both countries pledged their commitment to provide a total of Euros 2 Million each annually for Indo-Hungarian Strategic Research Fund for collaborative research activities, including a mix of bilateral research projects and scientific symposiums.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is on a four-day state visit to India.

Earlier today, Orban called on President Mukherjee at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Orban also called on Vice President Hamid Ansari earlier in the day.

Orban is scheduled to visit Mumbai on Friday, where he is expected to attend the opening of the Trading Session followed by meeting with Indian Financial Investors. (ANI)
