New Delhi, Oct 14 (ANI): Communications and Information Technology (IT) Minister Kapil Sibal on Monday said everybody in the Congress Party must campaign and make sure that the positive things done by the UPA-II Government are taken forward to the people.
Sibal welcomed reports that UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi's daughter Priyanka Vadra would be campaigning for the Congress throughout the country.
"It's good. Everybody in the Congress must campaign and make sure that the positive things that have been done by UPA-II are taken forward to the people. We would request you (media) also to give an objective view of what has happened in this country under UPA-II," he said, while asserting that the Congress-led UPA-II Government has done many 'wonderful' things.
The Congress Party today categorically denied media reports that Priyanka Vadra will campaign for the party in the 2014 general elections, and said this news has been floated to divert attention from the Madhya Pradesh temple tragedy.
"We condemn news channels that have claimed Priyanka Gandhi will be campaigning for the Congress Party across the country. There is no truth in it. This news has been floated to divert attention from failures of the BJP Government in Madhya Pradesh," said AICC General Secretary and Communication Department in-charge Ajay Maken.
Certain media reports earlier said that Priyanka Vadra has decided to campaign for the party throughout India in view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls. (ANI)
