Leader of Opposition in Delhi State Assembly Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra has said that there is a need for corporation to develop sports environment in its school. He was addressing a prize distribution function organized by South Delhi Municipal Corporation in Tyagraj Stadium at Lodhi Road.
Almost 80 students were awarded in eight different categories. On this occasion Leader of Opposition in Delhi Legislative Assembly, Prof. Vijay Kr. Malhotra; Chairman Education Committee, Satish Upadhyay and other councillors were present. Director, Primary Education, Rajesh Pathak and other officials graced the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Malhotra said that Corporation should develop sports environment in its school. There is a need to develop such an atmosphere where students can be motivated towards sports and teachers should focus in searching new sports talent.
Chairman Education Committee, Satish Upadhyay said that SDMC is going to establish 'Talent Search Academy' for talent hunt and sports promotion in its school. There is a scheme for opening a sports-cum-residential school as well. We also have collaboration with 'Olympic Society for Disabled' to give physical training to the disabled students in our school and we are also focusing on recruiting physical teachers for imparting better physical training.
