One accused out of Six in Dec 16, 2012 Delhi gang rape is proved juvenile, as a defence lawyer informed to media.

According to media reports, the Juvenile Justice Board has declared him minor on the basis of his High School certificate in which his date of birth is printed 04 June 1995, means he is still under 18 and will complete the age in June.

The board has also rejected the plea seeking minor’s bone ossification test.

"He is a juvenile. The Juvenile Justice Board declared the sixth accused as juvenile on the basis of the date of birth on his school certificate which mentions June 4, 1995," said prosecutor Ishkaran Singh Bhandari after the hearing before the board.

Apart from the juvenile, five other accused were involved in the Dec 16, 2012 brutal gang-rape of a 23-year-old trainee physiotherapist in a moving bus. The five accused are facing trial in a fast-track court in Saket in south Delhi.

According to media reports, this minor accused had played most violent role in the gang rape case.

However, the father of the victim is not satisfied with court’s decision and is reportedly considering on moving to High court.

The court has also rejected the plea of another accused Vinay, who had claimed to be minor.
