The Republic Day celebration in Manipur became blemished due to four blasts held in the state capital in which one bomb busted at Manipur Rifles ground on the eve of Republic day.
However, Governor Gurbachan Jagat Saturday unfurled the national flag amid tight security and salute at an impressive march past by police forces here.
Governor has also appealed people to maintain peace in the troubled state.
According to media reports, separatist rebels triggered an improvised explosive device blast at Wangbal in Thoubal district, police said. No one was injured.
A Coordination Committee of seven major separatist outfits called for a boycott of the Republic Day.
