Mysore, Sep 28 (IANS) The West Indies 'A' routed India 'A' by 162 runs after the hosts collapsed to 152 in their second innings with the visiting spinners Nikita Miller (5-40) and Veerasammy Permaul (3-56) yet again playing the lead role on the fourth and concluding day of the match here Saturday.
Chasing 315 after the Windies declared their second innings at their overnight 130 for three, the Indians gave yet another poor performance to be dismissed for 152 in the 86th over.
Left-arm spinners Miller and Permaul, who had taken four and five wickets respectively in the Indian first innings that folded for 245 to give the Windies a 184-run lead, again did the bulk of damage on the fourth day to lead their side to a splendid victory.
The only solace for the Indians was the batting of Manpreet Juneja who followed up on his first innings score of 84 with a fighting 70 (193b, 4x4, 1x6), but received no support from the other end as the home team capitulated.
For skipper Cheteshwar Pujara, it was a massive disappointment as besides losing the game, he failed with the bat too making 3 and 17 on a pitch that held no terrors.
Brief scores:
West Indies'A' 429 and 130 for 3 decl beat India 'A' 245 and 152 all out in 85.4 overs (Jiwanjot Singh 24, Manpreet Juneja 70; Nikita Miller 5 for 40, Veerasammy Permaul 3 for 56, Narsingh Deonarine 2 for 29) by 162 runs.
