PM condemns Nairobi terror attack

New Delhi, Sep 22 (IANS) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Sunday condemned the terror attack in Kenya's capital Nairobi and called for a global effort to control violence.

In a condolence letter to Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta, Manmohan Singh said: "A concerted global effort is required to control such mindless violence."

The prime minister directed the external affairs ministry to extend help to Indian nationals who were among the victims of the Nairobi attack.

The terror attack at an upscale shopping mall in Nairobi Saturday left 59 dead.

Two Indians, including an eight-year-old boy, the son of a local Indian banker, were among those killed. Four other Indians were injured, an Indian government spokesman said here Sunday.
