Ex employee drops racial discrimination lawsuit against celebrity chef Paula Deen

Washington , Sat, 24 Aug 2013 ANI

Washington, August 24 (ANI): Former Food Network chef Paula Deen has been let off the hook by her former employee Lisa Jackson, who has sued her for racial discrimination last year.

According to reports, lawyers in Savannah signed a deal to drop the lawsuit "without any award of costs or fees to any party," Us magazine reported.

Recently, US District Court Judge had trashed Jackson's claims that the Southern star and her brother Bubba Hiers had subjected her to racist attitudes during the five years she was employed at Uncle Bubba's Seafood and Oyster House.

Deen's spokesperson issued a statement stating that the former chef is pleased that the judge dismissed the race claims and she is now looking forward to get back to doing what she loves, and review the workplace environment issues that were raised in this matter and to retool all of my business operations.

Jackson described Deen as a "woman of compassion" in her statement and said that she is confident her former employer would keep her word and address the concerns that had been brought up by her lawsuit. (ANI)
