Jaipur (Rajasthan), Aug.19 (ANI): In a sharp contrast of size, the world's shortest woman, Jyoti Amge, unveiled a 30-foot-high book, which is a contender to become the world's largest and heaviest book, here over the weekend.

Amge, 19, hails from Nagpur, Maharashtra state, is just two feet six inches tall, and has entered the Guinness Book of World Records as the smallest woman on the planet.

Hundreds of excited residents attended the function just to catch a glimpse of Amge. And, as she emerged through the crowd onto the stage, onlookers rushed to click a photograph of this 'small celebrity'.

"I have been called here because I am the world's shortest woman and my name is registered in the Guinness Book of World Records and that is why I have unveiled this book. I am very happy that I am an Indian and this book is also of an Indian and I would want its name to be featured with me in the Guinness Book of World Records," said Amge.

The book, titled 'Kadve Pravachan' (Hard-Hitting Discourses) has been authored by Jain saint Tarun Sagar, who has taken a vow to remain naked.

The current Guinness record for the world's largest book is held by 'This the Prophet Mohamed', which measures 16.40 feet high and 26.44 feet wide and weighs approximately 1500 kilograms.

President of World Records India Pawan Solanki claimed the book is the largest on the planet.

"The book is 30 feet high and 24 feet wide. This book has also created another record of being the heaviest book. The last record was of Brahma Kumari in Mumbai and the book was 27 feet high. But this book is at 30 feet," said Solanki.

The book weighs 2,000 kilograms. About 1,500 kilograms of iron, 100 litres of colour and 400 kilograms of flax were used by ten workers who came from Ahmedabad and Nasik to make the book in four days. (ANI)
