Khanna paper mills not shifting its plant out of Amritsar

Amritsar , Sat, 17 Aug 2013 ANI

Amritsar, Aug 17 (ANI): India's largest recycling paper plant, the Khanna paper mills, today refuted rumors that it would be shifting the plant away from Amritsar.

There were rumours that the paper mill was in the process of shifting its plants to Gujarat State for a better future. There were reports in a section of the media too. Denying the rumors, the mill authorities said they were happy with the Punjab government's industrial policy and not shifting out of Punjab to Gujarat or any other state.

"We are thriving in the state and see no reason to shift to any other state. Even if we expand, our first priority will always be Punjab. We extend our full support to the visions of the Government of Punjab, under the leadership of Shiromani Akali Dal - Bharatiya Janata Party led Punjab government. We repose our full faith on the state which has given us a name, and its leadership," said Khanna paper mill Director Suneet Kochhar.

"We were on the same page and together faced the hardships of militancy in the eighties and nineties", said Kochhar, and added that they have come out from the dark phases of that period with support of state and its leadership.

"The journey from a small scale industry to a large scale industry won't have been possible without this support and they are indebted to them for our growth stories," he added. By Ravinder Singh Robin (ANI)
