New Delhi, Aug. 17 (ANI): Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajiv Shukla on Saturday warned Pakistan that India will react strongly if violations along the Line of Control (LoC) continue.
"India will give a befitting reply of any such attempt (to violate the ceasefire). We are not going to sit idle. The Defence Minister has already warned it and the Prime Minister has also warned it. So, Pakistan should think twice before taking any such steps. So, India is going to be very, very strict in taking action and we will protect our borders," Shukla said.
Rajiv Shukla had lashed out at Pakistan over the fresh ceasefire violation in Kargil sector on Friday, saying that a strong and befitting reply will be given.
"Any activity from across the border will not be tolerated and a strong reply will be given. One should not take the test of our patience," Shukla said on Friday.
The relationship between the two countries has been severely strained after the Pakistani Army ambushed six Indian soldiers in Poonch District in Jammu and Kashmir on August 6.
Pakistan has violated the ceasefire along the LoC seventeen times in the last ten days.
The latest incident of ceasefire violation came on Friday when the Pakistani troops targeted Indian forward posts in the Kargil-Drass sector. It was the first time since the Kargil war of 1999 that the Pakistani army had fired in the sector. (ANI)
