Tokyo, Aug 17 (ANI): The head of the Premier League has urged world football governing body FIFA to consider moving the 2022 World Cup from Qatar to another place.
According to The Japan Times, growing health concerns about playing in the Gulf's sweltering summer heat have forced the issue onto the agenda for the next meeting of FIFA's hierarchy in October
Although the English Football Association is open to the World Cup moving to winter, Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore has opposed that because of the disruption that will be caused to the usual August-May season.
According to Scudamore, if FIFA deems it impossible to play in Qatar in the summer, then it is necessary for the location of the World Cup to be moved to another place, adding that they cannot just on a whim decide to move the tournament to the winter. (ANI)
