New Delhi, Aug. 9 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday expressed concern over an Intelligence Bureau (IB) warning of a possible terror strike in the national capital ahead of 67th Independence Day.
BJP spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi said not just Delhi, but the entire country is on the target.
"What is happening right now on the international front is that the western powers are going to leave Afghanistan and after converting a country like Afghanistan into a barren desert. The Taliban from Afghanistan is going to move in and will be forced in to China, Sinkiang and several districts, including India that is the status of intelligence," said Lekhi.
"And why my government is not worried is my concern," he added.
According to reports, the Intelligence Bureau has alerted the Delhi Police about a terror attack. Delhi Police has been put on high alert following the intelligence agency's letter about a specific threat to the national capital.
According to the inputs gathered by Intelligence Bureau, Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) founder Hafiz Saeed could be planning yet another terror attack in India, especially in Delhi.
Saeed, the mastermind of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, had tweeted Eid greetings with a strong anti-India message.
Notably, Saeed addressed huge Eid gathering at Lahore's famous Gaddafi stadium this morning. His latest public appearance came three days after five Indian soldiers were killed along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch sector. (ANI)
