Mumbai,Cinema/Showbiz, Tue, 06 Aug 2013 IANS

Mumbai, Aug 6 (IANS) Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha says his debut production venture "Gulab Gang" is not based on any real-life character.

It has been reported that the film, directed by Soumik Sen, is loosely based on Uttar Pradesh-based social activist Sampat Pal and her Gulabi Gang, which works towards liberation of women in the state.

However, Sinha cleared the air through his tweet and wrote: "Also, for the record, 'Gulaab Gang' is fiction. Not based on anyone's life, loosely or tightly. So please."

The film will witness the comeback of dancing diva Madhuri Dixit on the silver screen after her 2007 released film "Aaja Nachle". The film also features Juhi Chawla, Mahie Gill and Tannishtha Chatterjee in key roles.
