Brazil's Oliveira breaks Pistorius' T43 100m world record at Paralympic Anniversary Games

London , Mon, 29 Jul 2013 ANI

London, July 29 (ANI): Brazil's Alan Oliveira has become the world's fastest double amputee athlete after breaking Oscar Pistorius' 100m T43 record at the Paralympic Anniversary Games in London.

The 20-year-old ran 10.57 seconds to break his previous record of 10.77.

According to the BBC, Oliveira's Sunday's record was his second of the week after he broke Pistorius' 200m world best on his way to winning that event in Lyon.

However, Oliveira again played down the idea of trying to compete at both the Rio Olympics and the Paralympics in 2016, the report added. (ANI)
