New Delhi, July 25 (ANI): Staff at the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi and the Consulate-Generals in Chandigarh and Mumbai have raised Rs. 1,65, 100 for victims of recent floods in Uttarakhand.
The contributions were made both by the locally engaged and Canada based staff.
The amount was handed over today to Caritas India, an NGO working for the rehabilitation of victims in Uttarakhand.
Handing over the cheque to Father Frederick D'Souza, Executive Director of Caritas India, Canada's High Commissioner Stewart Beck said: "On behalf of all our staff, I offer my sincerest condolences and sympathies to those affected by heavy rains and flash floods in India's northern states. I hope our contribution will help with the efforts of the local authorities and civil society organisations in rebuilding the lives of the affected people." (ANI)
